The "Morning Post's" naval correspondent declaim that if tho Australian Navy is taking over tho.patrdl duties in the South Pacific, rather serious questions may anso. "It scams quite clear," he declares, "that tho Australian Navy is not Under the Admiralty's orders, so the Admiralty cannot bo Jield responsible for its actions. The Commonwealth' is not tho sovereign powor. Accordingly Australian 6hips will not be recognised abroad as forming part of tho British , Navy, or they may bo , ignored altogether as possessing no place lin international law. If the Australian Navy, were refused recognition by the ships bf a foreign Power, tho Commonwealth would be deeply insulted, yet vessels not representing the sovereign powor are regarded as privateers or pirates.
