FIRE AT TAIHAPE.
(By Telegraph —Prosß Assoclatlbn.) Toihapo, February 21. Soon after 2 a.m. to-day n.firo broke out; in tho kitchen of tho Trocadero, a restaurant in Main Street. Tho building was rapidly engulfed in> (lames, which 6prcad to an adjoining shop, temporarily occupied by. Semeloff, with 1 a stock of drapery, clotliinp, and boots. The back part was used as a residence by Murray, lessee. Both buildings vcre gutted. Tho brigade, helped by an excellent water supply/prevented tho Are from spreading to the adjoining buildings ,on .each side, which only suffered 1 slight damage from heat and water. The'occupants only had n few minutes to cscape, losinpr all their property. . Murray's loss in books alone is .£IOO. "Tho buildings wore owned by A.. Nathan. Insurance—Buildings, ,£4.00 each in tho Sun; Murray's, furniture, .£IOO in the Loudon, Liverpool, and Globo, Fortunately there was no wind, or otherwise it would have been difficult to saro tho adjoining premises.
