MASTERTON NOTES.
(From Our Bneciol Corressondest.) Masterton. February 21.In the report of the Military Court of Inquiry, which was transmitted by telegram on Thursday night, it was made to appear that Lieut. Wilson, "knew" that political or social influence .was nsed in the appointment of Lieut. Hirschberg. This was an error in transmission. Liout. Wilson stated that ho was not aware that either social or political influence was used. ' The 'annual meeting of tho Wairaropa Egg Circlo.was held last night. There was a good attendance of members, and the rcjiort, which showed satisfactory progress during tin year, was adopted. Rabbit-poisoning operations aro now in .full swing on East Coast stations, and settlers are heartily co-operating with the officers of . the Stock Department in keeping the pest in check. So far as can bo ascertained, there will bo no opposition to Messrs. Daniell and M'Farlnne,- in tho representation of the Wairarapa l district on tho Wellington Harbour Board.'
