Fair weather was encountered on tho voyage. Mr. G. Allport, Secretary of' the Marino Department, who is making a tour of inspection of the lighthouses, informed a "New Zealand Herald" representative that he was very pleased with the now light at Castlepoint, which is working very satisfactorily. Tho Hinemoa lias on board an acie-tone-acetyleno light and tower, which will be left at tho Chicken Island. Tho now light will be erected somo limo next month. A visit is to bo paid to tlio Kaipara River, when repairs to tlio Shelly Beach light will bo effected. ■ Tho Hinemoa sails early this morning with stores, etc., for the lighthouses north of Auckland. She will then proceed via Onehunga back to Wellington. A light will then bo erected at Karori Rock, near tho spot whero the Penguin was wrecked.
