HIS MAJESTY'S THEATER (( "The Fatal Wedding," which is the star" attraction at Messrs. J. Fuller and Sons' hondsora© and commodious theatre in Gourtenay Place, will; be screened for only two mors nights, and at a matinee to-morrow. The list,of supporting jiictures covers , a wide range of interesting subjects, and (;ho programme as a whole is well worth seeing. ' ; THEATRE ROYAL. . ' "Toby," the baboon,- who is making many, friends at the Theatre Royal this /week, ia an animal actor well , worth seeing. Othora who contribute to a varied and entertaining programme are Pedrini, the chameleon-footed man; Jules Garrison and his Roman Maids; Victor the Great, The ITontenoy's, Maud Fanning, and Arthur Elliott, . J.. KING'S THEATRE. , The principal attraction' in the selection of pictures now being screened at the ICing's Theatre is "A Girl Without' a_ Country." The picture details a story of the Balkan States, and introduces the well-known actress, Miss Asta Neilsen, in the character of Zada, a gipsj; girl.. An interesting item is "The Unveiling of the. Cook Memorial." The supporting pictures are all 'good of their, "several kinds. The programme will be repeated to-night, and there will be the usual matinee to-morrow afternoon.' THE NEW THEATRE. The chief picture of the new programme at the-.Netif- Theatre is a qufrsi-inilitary l drama entitled "The Torch of War." Aforeign officer pays a friendly visit to an adjutant, whose daughter Helga. falls in love with the visitor.' A'sudden declaration causes war, and the foreigner is called upon to depart. Helga bids farewell toitlie officer, and at the same time learns that ho is to fight against her father. ■Naturally enough she thereupon declares that 1 she cannot wed' a'man who is fighting against her country. Scenes which' follow purport to depict the mobilisation of troops,, and alleged battle scenes follow. Later, Helga tempts - the foreign officer to give her some of the eneiny'B plans, -under promise that she will marry him. The officer consents, but Helga is captured with the stolen property. She is about .to be shot, whon her lover comes forward,and takes the onus. Thereafter the trend of events ia highly dramatic. "The. Ranch Girl's Trial" (G. and A. drama), "The Drummer" (Lubin comedy), and "A Ramble Round■Luchou" (scenic) are among other pictures shown., ' EMPRESS THEATRE. To-day's hew programme of the Empress Theatre contained a series of striking films. Tito Selig drama, "The Shuttle of Fate,", is. an example, showing the kinder side of human nature. Frank Keene, Who is hardened by years spent in the Alaskan goldfields, happens to be.returning ty steamer to San Francisco, when the tiny daughtor of a fellow passenger attracts his notice.: One night the steamer meetswith a .disastrous collision; Keene fights has way to the child, grasps her in his arms, and jumps overboard. The child's parents are lost, but. Keene, with the child, is saved. Another attractive item. "The Danco at Silver Gulch," was a good example of a Western dfama. : "The War-' wick. Chronicle," being a collection of most interesting events, was followed by a dramatic story,-"A 'Tragic Flirtation, ' which proved a well-conceived enactment. The performance ends with a humourous episode—"The Luck of ft ha Red Lion"— in which an old actor staying at a country inn- is mistaken for a Russian prince, traveling in cognito. "The Oak of Stephen Huller" will ba the Btar Item on Monday's new programme. SHORTTS' PICTURES. By special request the pseudo-historic picture "The Setreat from Moscow " was shown-throughout all sessions at Shortts' pictures yesterday. Among the new subects was a Patno coloured drama entitled "Red Fox the Poachor." It depicts, many dramatio incidents, in which ' a poacher attempts to outwith the everwatchful game-keepers. "The Spirit of the Manor" is another fine picture, for which the well-known Vitagraph Co. is responsible. Tho latest issue of the Pathe Gazette supplies pictures of _ the most important' of -recent happenings. "Lichmith Mine, at Bruce," is a capital soonic number. • ' PEOPLE'S PICTURE PALACE. New clotures were put on at the People's' Picture -Palace yesterday. Among the best is one entitled "Indelible Stain,' A , wayward . girl in • the Padro Argos's flock has been misled by the town swaggerer. One night she lays a baby on -the padre's steps appealing to him to find>„ home for the child. In the morning the padro asks' who will, adopt the baDy, but owing to the un-Christian-like tongue of Picdaa all but one hang back. The baker's wife takes the child, while Argos rebukes Piedad. Twenty years later. Elsa, the outcast, who is in ignorance or her origin, is loved by Pedro, the son of a. rich merchant, and -this coming to tho ears of Piedod, she acquaints the father of the girl's history. The merchant forces his son to withdraw and Elsa 6eeks refuge ill the bosom of tho Church. An item entitled "King Robert of Sicily" is built . up on ono of Longfellow's well-known . poems. Tho pictilre is a beautiful realisation of a wonderful old legend. Among other pictures shown are "Hawkeye, the Showman," and "Tho Tell-talo Umbrella." i The programme will bo repeated through, out all sessions to-day. [. . ■ "THE FOLLIES." , I Those capablp entertainers, "Tho Fol- ■ lies," are attracting good audiences f night by night to the Concert Chamber ■ of tho Town Hall, and their porformanco - last evening was no exception to tho t rule. Their entertainment is a pleasant E blend of serious songs with others of 1 humorous character. It will bo repeated - this evening, and to-morrow evening "The Follies" will present a complote change of programme. j .... ORGAN RECITAL. ■ -!
