According to Russia's statistics, real Albanians do not exceed half a million, principally Slavs, 'Albanised under Turkish pressure, and retaining the religious customs of the Slavs. Those in the south retain their Greek' culture. London, February 18., The Powers are exercising the utmost pressure at Sofia and Bucharest to induce a settlement of the differences between Bulgaria and Rumania. BULGARIA SUGGESTS MEDIATION. Sofia, February 18. Bulgaria has proposed to the Powers mediation with regard to the Rumanian claims.
