Tho 'Tall Mali Gazette" says that the action of the Western Australian racing stewards ia changing jockeys beforo a race is somewhat high-handed, and makes for interesting possibilities. It the idea were adopted, in England there would be a howl of protest from owners. In connection with « recent meeting at Perth, certain rumours were afloat in respect to a well-fancied candidate, for a race, and tho stewards deemed it wise to cancel the engagement of a certain jockey and substitute ano'her. Tho odds against the horso thereupon shortened.
