WELLINGTON MEAT EXPORT CO., ' LTD.

It would be difficult- to conceive any more -striking method cf demonstratin;. what the Dominion owes to tho frcczins industry than that hit upon by the Wellington Meat Export Co., Ltd.,"in the display which is ljcin.<; made at the Masterton A. and P. Association's Solway Show. The number of visitors- to-the largo tent near the entrance to tho grounds is proof that the company's efforts 1 in this direction arc appreciated by those whose prosperity is inseparable from the freezing industry. One of -the'qbjects of tho display is to demonstrate to tho farmer that whereas a few years ago tho only marketable products of surplus sheep was the skin .and tallow, now not a particle of an animal which passes through the modern freezing works is wasted. The number and variety of the by-products aro a source of wonder to the layman visiter. A - neatly-arranged display of sealed glass jars contain innumerable byproducts which represent practically every part of the anatomy of an ox and sheep (except the frozen carcass) which have passed through the company's_ works at Ngahauranga. A fine display is also made of "morocco," "chamois," "crocodile" and other, fancy leathers, all from the sheep's back, in tho various stages of treatmont, from the freshlyicnred pelt and the finished article ready for a variety of uses, including book-binding to the manufacture of ladies' "crocodile" belts and handbags. With Tegard to wools prominence is given to samples of the New Zealand-grown article, but for comparison there is n wonderful collection drawn from nil parts of Hie world, ranging from the Silesian merino, which, is very short in the staple, but. of silklike fineness, to the Scotch black-focei There's no use finding fault with the Factory when you get a low ,milk test— tho. blame lies with ■ yourself. ' If yorir milk is placed in one of Parton's Coolers directly it comes from .the cow, it will be in perfect condition When it reaches the Factory. Then von ■ \jill get'high tests, and proportionately high prices. Albert' J. Parton, Carterton.—Advt. : A WINNER . OF COMPETITIONS. The Egg-laying competitions for 1910-11 and 1911-12 T ~ii« both won by hens reared on "A. audi.' Chich Raiser. The first essential for profitable poultry'. keepin«. Obtainablo from all Storekeepers.—Advt.
