• DELEGATES CONFER, -i'.. A conference of delegates of the Amalgamated Society of Carpenters-and Joiners is being held in Beo Hive Chambers, Oourtenay Place. Tho main object ofUlie conference, which' commenced yesterday, is to consider the disbursement of the '.'Twenty-five per cent. "Fund" and to go into tho question of n Dominion award. Tho following' aro in attendance:—President, Mr. Wm. Boveridge; representative of theExeoutdvo Board, Mr. J. E. Heyes; representatives of branches, Messrs. A. G. Cook (Auckland), P. A. Moody (Christchurch), W. Neodham (Dunedin), J. W. Aitchison (Napier), C. Provan (Invercargill), P. W. Weir (Wanganui), and P. Singleton (Wellington); advisors to tho Dominion, award; . Messrs. H. Banfield (Auckland), Q. Blatherwick (Wellington), Ed. Kellett (Otago), and W. H. Wilson (Hawke's Bay); secretary, Mr, Ivor Hawll ■'(Wellington). . ' Yesterday's sitting' was mainly ocoupied with,tho president's address, and the replies by delegates.. This morning the remits will be discussed. These . include the question of placing tho executive secresalary on a satisfactory basis, increasing salaries of branch secretaries, and branch officers, benevolent grants, organisation, co-operativo stores. Three branches havo also forwarded remits that the "Twenty-fivo per cent. Fund" be not used for political purposes. .
