Sir,—l notice in this morning's issue of The Dominion that sevoral membors of the Methodist Conferenoo now, beine held in Wellington spoke . very emphatically against compulsory military training. That people of suoh education and <uilightmont should take such an attitude p»««PS riiy comprehension. Surely those gentlemen know how very vital it is that we as a small nation should make ourselves as efficient in tho use of arms a<i we possibly can. I oandidly believe that the bulk of Socialists and anti-militarist*, in the ovent of an enemy attacking this land, would manfully do their share in assisting to repel 6uch an attack, but as has been so often pointed out, of what avail an undisciplined rabblo against (ho highly-trained'fighters of; Japan.
