Mr. Plowden (A london' magistrate) dismissed a youth accused by a young lady of snatching her handbn? in the street. She told the magistrate that on tho night following, tho theft she put nn a. different costume and searched-for tho defendant, whom sho ultimately saw boarding n bus. Mr/Plowden complimented her on her resource, saying sho had apparently had more wits thnn all the men, but at tho adjourned hearing 110 said that tho prosecutrix had a "most lively, imagination," which ho mistrusted.
