UNCONTROLLABLE AS THE WIND. As a much-travelled Anicrioah, Mr. A. M'Quostion, of Boston, was asked about tho anti-tipping crusado in America, and its chances of being effective. . Still, thero were plenty of hotels even in America whore there was' no tipping, and somewhere tho boll-boy would probably fall down in a fit if he sWas Riven a tip. Thoy woro places frequented by people of restricted means. At one of the leading hotels in Cairo not only ii the chief waiter not paid any wanes, but actually nays a premium to get the position. It ii an extremely wealthy class who frequent Cairo in tho season! • Apropos of tipping, Mr. M/Questlon tells a *tory of a hotel proprietor friend of : his who took a pride Ih his fa*t trotting home, which in winter was attached to ! tleighs, and made good time over a food I snow. roi|d. One day lie was caught and | passed by another trotter, and on looking at the driver, recognised in hiltt hie own head waiter.
