(From Out Special Corrcspondente.) ■ —4 : — FEATHERSTON. The Featherston Athletic Sports Club held its first nicotine: on Thursday, there l>eing a largo attendance. A'programme of eighteen events was put through, and bis fields were the rule. A cold medal for tho most points in handicap events was won by E. Silverwood (10 points)— ■fiTst in ' 220 yds. and first in 410 yds., T. Walsh being runner-up (8 pomts)-~first in 100 yds. and in 2"oyds. A social and dance was held in the Town Hall in the evening. • ' ,
CARTERTON. The, annual report of ths Wairarapa Egg Circle is. now being distributed amongst the members, and is a very favourable one. The membership bas grown satisfactorily, being now as follows: Masterton 42, Carterton 35.' Grey town 26, Featherston 10, Mauriceville 5, andMnngamahoo 2. During the year the circle's oiient at' Wellington disposed of 40,635 dozen eggs, realising ,€2420. Mnsb?r'on sont 19,411 dozen egsrs,. Carterton 8312, Gmytown 4943, Voatherstop 3308. Mangamahoo 2G46, and Mauricovillo 1715 doren; 2000 dozen were pre-orved eggs, and a contract has bren spcure<l this year for tho supply of -3000 dozer .preserved. 'eg<rs at Is. 3d. t>sr ■ dozen.';. Mr. and Mrs. 0- H'ffnrnnii, who have been on a trin to Denmark, have returned to the Waim'rapn. Thpy arrived in Wellington on Wednesday last by the Sydney boat. "
FEILDING. The two Hutt rinks of bowlers who took part in'the Duthio Cup contest at Wansanui this' week have arrived in FpildiD?, and are playino; the local club. Tho Rnngiwahia school picnic will be held on Monday. Mr, D. H. Guthrie, MJV (chairman of the. Wanganui Education Board), will bo present. The Te Arakura (Cameron's Lind) school nicnic will be held to-day. Mr. Frank Wilkinson has been elected hon. conductor of the Feilding T.iedertaW. Mr. Wilkinson had experience in Dunedin in conducting choirs, and is an outhusiast in choral work.
