The Northcote Cup and tho Sayonara Cup races aro tho two most interesting yachting - events which the Australian yachting folk have to -docitle. The first and second races for the Northcote Cup took place at Melbourne on Saturday last, and both were won by Rawhiii ll' (challenger) which is owned nnd sailed bv' Mr. Saycr.. Tn both races the Sydney yacht bent her rivnl, Killnra (Victoria) by about an hour and a half. In this event threo races aro sailed, but on Saturdav the third was not i;ot off. Possibly this third test will not bo sailed at nil on account of tho fact that the Sydney yacht won both races straight out. Tho Cup was presented in 1907 by lord Northcote, then Governor-General of tho Commonwealth,
