Weather condition nxo likely to Improve temporarily, but more westerly disturbances Uto to bo expected in tho early part of next week, with unpleasant weather. Tho barometer is now rising temporarily, but is likely to provo low in tho middle of next week. Heavy west to south-westerly gales were experienced In and southward of Cook Strait on Thursday night; como snow fell on higher levels, and the weather continued 6tormy in tho south to-day. Strong southerly winds prevail, with squally and changeable weathor generally. Tho barometer has risen considerably In tho southern districts. D. 0.
