The fourth .and final wool nnlo of this season's series was held to-day, when there .were £490: bales offered. The total quantity offered at the Christehurch sales this season was 53,014 bales, as compared with 46,890 bales last scafion, though this reason's offerings are not oiiite up to the record of 63,994 bales in 1909-1910. The selection' to-day comprised back-country and late shorn clips and odd lots passed in at the provioun sale. There -wan a- largo attendance of buyers, iind the ealc was a brisk ono, throughout. Halfbreds were very firm at par' to a farthing advance on the rates ruling at the January sale, while crossbreds were fully a, halfpenny dearer. Morinos were ir.rs?ulan the local woollen mills not operating, as they did iit the earlier sa!-t=. A very satisfactory ■clearance* was effected, the bulk of the passings consisting of some of the larger clips, which failed to rfcvch the growers' reserves. The top nrices did not equal those at the January silo, but the condition of the wool offered has to bo taken into account, as it.was heavier In grease, and much of that from -the back country was not of the quality of that grown- on the front hills and downs. A larger quantity of lambs' woo! was offered than at any nreviouis Ohristchurch Ea'.e, and the best descriptions sold well, but several lots of inferior, were passed.
