IMPRESSIVE MEMORIAL SERVICE.
GREAT CONGREGATION IN CHRIST- ■ CHURCH CATHEDRAL. ' (By ,Teleifrai)h.—Sieolal CSorrcsuondent.) Christchurch, February 13. The memorial servico in the Cathedral, 1 which took tho place of tho ordinary Evensong, was attended by a congregation which fillet} every corner of tho building, and included a largo number of tho members of the Antarctic expedition and representatives of many local bodies. The fcrvics was almost 'purely choral, and included tho well-,known hymns, "0 God, Oiir Help in Ages Past," "Brief Life is Here Our Portion," ' and "Abide With Me.'.' The cathedral choir sang an anthem and a portion of tho burial 'service, the Bishop read the lesson, and the .cathedral organist played a Funeral March as a voluntary to the Dead March in Saul at the conclusion of tho servico. There was no address. Tho, service was a most impressive one, though very simple.
