Mail advices relating to the retirement of Mr. J. Bruco Ismay from tho position of president of the International Mercantile Marine Company state that last' February he intimated his desire to retire in favour of Mr. Harold Sanderson, who, under Mr. Ismay's presidency, has been associated with tho concern sinco its commencement. Arrangements were then mado accordingly, tho change lo take placo on Jum 30. 1013, so as to allow Mr. Sanderson to take'six months', leave of absence from January 1 before assuming office. Mr, Sanderson, who was born at Birkenhead some fifty-three years ago, .is one of the best-known men in shipping circles in England, as, in addition to his connection with the Whito Starj line and tho International 'Mercantile Marino Company, he is also chairman of tho following companies:—Shaw, Savill and Albion Company, Limited, Gcorgo Thompson and Co., Limited, British and North Atlantic Steam Navigation Company, Limited, and Mississippi and Dominion Steamship Company, Limited. Mr. Saudcrsou is also a director of tho International Navigation Company, Limited, National Steamship Company, Limited, and Liverpool and London Steamship Protection Assotion.
