FEILDING. A email party of Esperantists had a conference in Feildin? on Monday night with Mr. J. Russell, of "Auckland, who is secretary of the New Zealand Esperanto Association and who was spending the night in Feilding in passing south. ■ The Kiwitea Presbyterian Sunday School picnic was held in Gibson's paddock. In a short speech, Mr. Frank Barrow made reference to tho early departure of Mr. and Mrs. Blooiufield, who have been transferred to Pongaroa, in the /Wairarapa. Mr. Barrow asked them to accept a very handsome travelling rug from trie church congregation as ft token of esteem and'an expression of their'good wishes for tho future. Mr. Bloomfield, who is a homo missionary for tho Presbyterian Church, ■ suitably responded, f. A camp for instruction in animal .husbandry is to bo held at "Almadale," beginning on March 3.

, . '■ CARTERTON. The annual meeting of- the Carterton Brass Band was held on Monday night, Mr. J. M. Nicholls presiding, when the report and balance-sheet were adopted. Bandsman W. Kay won tho conductor's prize of £1 for the best attendance (jurmg tho twelve months. Mr. J. M. Nicholls offered a medal to bo won under similar conditions next year. Tho following officers were elected;— Patron, Dr. B. M. Gunn; president, Mr. F. vicepresidents, Messrs. J. W. CoVdingloy, J. M. Nicholls, W. A. Kitchen, A. Phillpotts, H. ■Keltic, H. H. -Wolters, W. H. Booth, H. Dooly, Dr. Johnston, and Sir W. C. Buchanan; conductor, Mr. It. Crawley; deputy-conductor, Mr. W. H. Spooner; corporal, Mr. J. sergeant, Mr. O. Petersen; treasurer, Mr. E. Crawley; secretary, Mr. C. Foster; custodian, Mr. W. Kay.
