THE REV. J. J. NORTH.
DEPARTURE FOR CHKISTCHURCH. At tho Vivian Street Baptist Church on Sunday last, the RevV J.' J. North conducted his final services, before leaving for Christchiirch. In the morning tho usual service was held, and in the afternoon Mr. North addressed the children in the Sunday School, ■ the Young Men's Bible Clpss, (ind tho Youug Women's Bible Class. In the evening ho preached to ! ft.crowded churchfrom tho words "The two, disoiples heard Him speak and followed Him." Iu a very earnest address, he appealed to.his hearers to chlist in the servioe of .Testis Christ. He folt that this was the test of a Christian'minister's work.
A very large number of members and friends last oyeniug bade Mr. and Mrs. North and their family'good-bye, as they left by the Maori. Cheers were , given for Mr. ind Mrs. North, and a parting hymn, "Blest bo tho tie that binds," was sung as the. boat started.
