Sir,—ln your issue of Friday, January 31, alluding to officers' expenses whilo iu England, so far as it affects' the' sublieutenants, you omitted to stato under the list of expenses they incurred tho most important, viz., that of "kit." When this is considered, the pay, .£3OO, is by no means excessive, quite tho contrary, which anyone can learn if they caro to inquire.—l am, etc., "KIT." Palmerston North, February G.
