THE "SIXTY-FIVERS'" SINGLES. The final game in tho "Sixty-fivers'" singles (the-prize'for which \vns a pair of ''White Horse" bowls, donated by Mr. J. J. Roberta) was played on tho Wellington green last evening. Tho green was favourable, but there' was a rather high and gusty wind from the horth-west, which occasionally affected a shot. The game was between Lockio (Wellington) and Freeman (Thorndon), tho two oldest entrants, and was won by tho former by 21 points to 18, after a splendid game. Lockie led throughout, but on the seventeenth head' ho was only two points ahead, and tlio gamo was anyono's. When it camo to tho Inst head, Freeman wanted four to tie, but ho only succeeded in getting, ono of the much-desired, number. At tlio conclusion of the game tho bowls were presented ,to the winner by the donor, who congratulated Mr. Lockio on his win. Ho expressed the hope that tho idea of . providing a match for the older players would he taken up by the Wellington Bowling Centre, and made an nn'nunl fixture. At present there were lots of matches for the younger players, but nono specially for "sixtv-fivers."" On Mr. Roberts's proposal, t.lio health of Mr. Lockio was drunk with, musical honours.

Mr. Lockie, replying briefly, admitted that he had been fluxions to win tho match, nnd was proud that he had done eo. (Applause.)
