Francis Augustus Thurston was sentenced 'to ono month's imprisonment on a charge of his having stolen 225. 6d. worth of tobacco from the shop of Sun Young Keo and Co. One of tho Chinese chased him, and Thurston went into a houso and came out by way of another property; but the Oriental etill kept track of' him,' and finally laid hands on him in tho Hotel Cecil. [■'■ THE STOLEN BICYCLE. James Oliver Armstrong pleaded not guilty to a chargo of his having stolen a bicycle belonging to Albert Edward Dimock, aifruiterer.

The police called three witnesses in 6upport of the charge, and informed the Court that Armstrong had already been twice convicted'through dishonesty.Armstrong was sentenced to one month's imprisonment, EEMANDBD. The vessel is at present in Wellington, and if it sails from hero J/oforo tho expiry of the sentence, Cray will bo put aboard. OTHER CASES. Jean Daziel was convicted- as an idle and disorderly person, and was ordered to appear' for' sentence when called on, on the condition that she went to the Salvation Army Home for six months.
