H. Ernest Leighton reports that at the auction sjile held in his auction mart, Lower Hutt, on Wednesday evening; there was a good attendance, and good competition for sections offered. Section 1, Block •2, Blobmfield Estate,, was sold to Mr. C. J. Shepherd. Sections 3 and 4, Block 2, were,sold to Mrs. E. Joel. Prices ranged from i£2lo to iE225 each. The other four sections, not reaching the reserve, aro now in tha auctioneer's hands for private sale. Mr.. J. R. Maokonzle, having sold his estate,; has instructed Messrs;: Wright, Stephenson, and 00., Ltd. 1 , Dnnedini' in conjunction with Messrs. Todd Bros,, ."Heriot," to sell the whole of his famous Clydesdale and Eomney Marsh, Studs by public auction, on Tuesday, March 4. Full particulars may bo had from either of the auctioneers.
