Mr. Rich'stated that the last conference had decided to recommend' that thd championships, now being'held' in Wanga-i nui, bo allotted to HawkcTßay, but this remit was, like all others passed at tho' last conference—it was not forwarded" to' tho council. .He, therefore, moved: "That the next championship meeting bo granted to'. Hawko's Bay.'.' ....

Tho moi lion was'nogatived,- " ' ■ ■■',-■:■ The" matter of tho secretary's honorarium was raised by Mr. Atkins, who ; strongly protested against the council's' paying a honorarium'of jeiS -to the secretary, He would inovo moro in this direction .as; a protest-against tho man- ■ ' n»r.in which tho council's work 'was >" : carriod out, .... ■■■'■■.■ ,■> Discussion then '■ ousued : as to whether the secretary was a professional in being paid. .£ls, and'the chairman gavo % it as', his opinion that a< "honorarium" did'not limko a professional of tho,secretary, but that,' if ho was paid a "salary" ho wouldl become'a professional. Mr'. Rich thought that .the time was ripo ' for a' New Zealand team of four- • teen to visit Australia. .They might 'not win much, but" the! gain in .experience; would bo considerable. :lle would movo that it be a suggestion to tho* council to invito suggestions frdm'lhc; various cen- .' tres relative to the advisability of send? ing a team to Australia. The motion was » carried unanimously. The .conference concluded with votes of thanks to the chair and secretary.
