FEILDING RAM FAIR.

faildlng,' February 6. 'Tho West Coast ram fair under the auspices of the Feilding A. and P. Association commenced here to-day. One thousand seven- hundred rams were entered, but only Romnoys were offered to-day. Prices generally were in favour of purchasers, though good rams fetched high
prices. ■ "-— The Romney, Marsh Shecpbreedors' Association held their annual sale in connection with the fair. Tho highest price'' of the day was 120 guineas, lor second, .£97 was offered on behalf of Mr. E. Short, and'purchased'by Mr. J. D. Hughes. Tho same breeder's Argentine First brought 110 guineas, ond was'purchased by Mr. A. L. Wheeler. Mr. Short offered twelve 6tud rams, which averaged 58J guineas. The fair will continue to-morrow.
