TEACHING THE YOUNG IDEA.
"A feature of tho holiday season in London," says an English paper, "will bo tho children's lectures to be given at the Royal Colonial Institute in .London during January." The subjects of these lectures were to v be those which would encourage a deeper interest in the development of the oversea Dominions. One lecture was to bo "New Zealand; Tho Wonderland of the World.". Another, "Birds of the British Empire," both to be copiously illustrated with lantern pictures. The facts taught to children in British schools about the different parts of,the Empire aro generally 60 dull that they only arouse a dislike for the oversea Dominions; but a series of leotures with good pictures should do much to alter these impressions.
