Association was opened onP the racecourse, to-day in perfect weather.'...in nil, 1433 entries wore received,ias against ■Wl3 last year. Horses make a big show in themselves, the total entries being :2(i5.. C'attlo are'-about the same as Inst year, .but a change.has come over;the.-classes. Last.year.there was strong-competition in Hol'steins,-but; str.lngo to say, thero is only onp exhibitor - showing this breed lit tho present show. -Ayrshires provided very .little competition last year, but they have i'evivp-r.tliis.year, the entry being a good; one,'niid Jersey breeders as usual have eoine forward finely with sonic verygood stock.: On the \wiofc," the cattle lack tho-"blodm" which they had .1 at the spring shows. '■' . ■. . . , I''eilding invariably draws biig sheep entries,- and both tho fat and ~fnrm classes are features of the show.' Some beautiful :stock is to be'seen in: tho pens, and some of the classes have as many as.'thirty in them.. Southdowns, which only totalled 78 last year, have advanced to 113 this year, and Xincolns. also have risen from 31 .Inst year to 65, but both Border and English' -Leicester's' hiivo fallen, off. There are only. 31 English.leicesters in the' pons, as ngainst'JlS last year, while Border Leices-'ti-rs, which registered 35 last year, are not 'represented this year.
