At the'Agra murder trial, Budhu, LieutClark's native servant, who was charged with complicity, in .'the crime,' but who received a free pardon, in order that he might testify against the other accused, in his evidence stated that four days before the.murder Lieutenant Clark requested him to accelerate the murder of Mrs. Clark. /Budhu asked for payment of the blood-money .first. Budhu and Sukhia, who were,,to/commit tha crime, went to the Fulhams' bungalow on the evening of the murder to discuss their plansl Lieutenant, Claxk shdw;ed them six sovereigns and ten rupees as bloodmoney. Rambal, Sukhia, Mohan, Bughukanhar, and witness l then wont to Mrs. Clark's with a. •large knife, w"hich Mohan kissed, worshipped, and sharpened. Lieutenant Clark arrived he removed a dog which was'barking, and then cycled awny. Budhu- pointed put Clark's wife to his confederates, and held a lantern while Mohan stabbed her.' - Tho murderers ran when Mrs.; Clark's daughter screamed.
