Mr. Ansten Chamberlain, speaking at Redditch, in Worcestershire, said the Unionists proposed, roughly, a 10 per cent, dnty on manufactured goods, but the duty would bo less where tho goods were a prime necessity or whero they wore in the first istnges'of manufacture, and mora .where they were .luxuries or carried to the last stages of manufacture. Tho party proposed to give colonial preference on every duty charge. That pre; ferenco would bo useful to any part of the Empire. If food duties wero sought tho party would seek a fresh mandate.
