"l'rom t information received from Tasmania, it appears that tlio Director of Education there, Mr. Neale, made tlio foolish. statement attributed to him. Whether the remaining tlirso wrote as nssorted, I know not," On December 2 the Director of Education cabled to the Bishop, confirming iho authenticity and genuineness of i:;io lcaguo's original publication; and on t'lio following day wrote to tlio Bishop, not only again confirming tlio leaguo's publication, but also showing that it was the official opinion of tho Tasmanian Education Department conveyed to tlio Government of Queensland. Tho Bishop 'con-tinues-to speak and writo in publio in opposition to our movement, but remains silent as to hia withholding the cablegram and letter. Under these circumstances self-respect forbids mo continuing correspondence with his Lordship on this point; etpepially after having given him ample opportunity to explain his concealment of the emphatic evidence wlich ho himself obtained clearing our character I am, etc., DAVID J.
