VICTORIA COLLEGE CLUB.,

Two races were held at tho Tliorndon Baths last evening, under the auspiccs of the Victoria College Club. One was the first distance for tlio Aston Memorial Cup (the. clul} championship), and,was over 50 yards, all from scratch.-- 'The rosult was:—Macnab, 1; Bullard, 2; Grev, 3. Also started:'Ronayno and-Clark. Time, 29 1 2-ssec. This provided a good . rftce, Macnab, winning by two or three-yards from Bullard, who finished a 'Similar distance in front of Grey.' The tussle for {hird plaoe was very closo, being almost a dead-heat, Grey gaining tho verdict by a touch from Ronayne and Clark. - The second raco was 'a 100 yards breast stroke handicap, and resulted:—Mason (Bsec.), 1; Ronayno (scr.), 2; Clark (ssec.), 3. Also started: Gi'ey (2sec.), Macnab (3sec.), Bullard (4sec.), Stevenson (Ssec.), Aston (lGsec.). Tho three: placed men finished very close together, Aston and Grey'were, too slow to gain a, place, while Stevenson, Bullard, and Macnab were disqualified, the former for breaking and walking on tho bottom, Bullard for dog-paddling, nnd Macnab for stopping and making-faces at .the other competitors.
