TRAMCAR ACCIDENT. rm ~ , „..-. Auck,ar ' d i January 30. • i t ro , u ee n falling'off a moving tramcar in Hobson Streot.yAuckland, at about a quarter to eleven o clock on Tuesday night, Frank Fletcher,' a married man, aged 32 years, sustained concussion of the brain. The injured man was taken to tho hospital. Fletcher/is a carter bv occupation. -His condition'is considered to be serious.
FATAL EXPLOSION: BOY KILLED. A fatality occurred recently at a hotel at Dungowan,, near Tamworth (N.S.W.), whereby tho licensee's son, Arthur Hall, aged 7 years, was killed, iand another son, aged 9, and" a servant girl; Ettie Herring, received fearful injuries. It appears that Ettie Herring was working im'a. laundry,' and Gordon and Arthur Hall 'were playing about. There'was a) tin of methylated spirits ,in the laundry, which, it.is supposed was left by a previous occupant of the promises. Mr. Hall,, who has.only been in the hotel a short time, says ho did not know of its existence. The younger boy, Arthur, threw '' a.' lighted match into the tin. There was an explosion, and tho three wiere terribly burned. Mrs. Hall and other people olose by hurried into the room; and v extinguished the flames, and in doing so' Mrs.. Hall was also burned, but not severely. Dr; Buckley . attended * to' the injured people, 'and subsequently Miss Herring and the two boys were brought to Tamworth, ' and admitted to-the hospital. -The younger boy died about 5 o'clock next morning.

Robinson's foundry and machine shop, when a bag apron ho was wearing became coiled round a rapidlymoving shafting.' He attempted to pull it, but his | hand was drawn in betweenthe apron and tho 6haft. - .Tho arm was first" broken, below the, elbow and then pulled right s off at' the break. White did. not fall from the ladder at once, but remained looking, at, the maimed limb, and with extraordinary nerve' walked, across to-a doctor's. hLater he woe removed to the hospital; - • --:.> \

Government 'steainer Hinemoa; which left Wellington /on: Tuesday last for Cook Strait lighthouses, put back into: port yesterday, morning'.'- While; forking the crane at Tho, Brothers .Lighthouse, an A.B. named'TevWliaitiri caught his right .hand in the-cog-wheel ,and it was so. badly crushed- that 1 , Bollons thought it advisable to bring the man ' into port for medical \ .treatment.
