(Wanganui), report:—At our Wavcrloy sale on January 24 .wo yarded 1000 sheep and 120 cattle: ■ Bidding was keen, everything being disposed of under the hammer, tho demand for sheep being better than for some tlmo past. Wo quote: F.m. ewes, lis. 9d.; lambs, 9s. 2d.; mixed two-tooths, 14a.' 4d,; fat two-tooths, 14s. 6d.; - s.m. ewes 10s.; fat cows, £7 7s. j four-year bullocks, £5 Is.; store cows, £4; cull steers, £3; two and a half-year steers, £5:55.: bulls, £4 7s. 6d. to £6.

Prices lor sheep were a good deal easier, especially for lambs. Cattle were also a little easier. Fat cows. £5; wcaner stocra aud heifers, 3Cs.; eightcen-montha steers, £3 19s. 6d.; two-year steers, ■ £5; woolly lambs, from 25., fa., to 75.; fat and forward shorn- lambs, Ea. 9d. Messrs. James Macintosh and Co. report havlns held' their usual weekly sale in their Waipoua (Masterton) solo yards on Wednesday, January 29, when they offered a small yarding of sheep, but as, good yarding of cattle, to a good number of buyers, and competition was fairly keen. Quotations ore ac follow:—Wolly lambs, 9s. 2d.; cull woolly lambs, 75.; two-tooth owes and wethers (small), 10s.; cows in profit, SA to £6 2s. 6d.; cull cows, £2 to £2 ss. to £2 10s.: store cows, £3 IDs. to £4 55.; weancrs, 243., 275., to 3C\3.; small calves,- 15s. to 16e. 6d.; fifteen-months heifers, £2 las.; cows and calves, £4' lCs.; springing cows, £6 to £6 10s.
V THE BTJBNSIDE SALES. ' (By Telegraph—Press Association.) -' Dunodln, January 29. At Burnside to-day 196 fat cattle were penned, Including a few lots of heavy bullocks. Prices for bullocks were 10s. to 15s. per hoad easier than last week, while in cows and heifers there' was a drop from 2Cs. to 235. per head from' last week's rates. Extra heavy bullocks, £14 to £15 17s. 6d.; good, £11 to £12 10s.; medium, £8 to £9 Is.
Fat sheop: 3003 penned. Following on the large yarding last week tho entry was too big for requirements, end prices showed & declinc'-of Is. 6d. to 2s. as. compared with last week. A largo portion of to; day's yarding was turndd out unsold, and until the freezing works open, the market will probably bo very irregular. Wethers; cxtra heavy, 235. 6d. to 255.; good, 18s. Gd. to 19s. 6d.; medium and unfinished, 16s. to 17s. 6d.; owes, extra heavy, 20s. to 225.; good, 15s. 6d. to 18s.; medium and inferior, 12s. to 14s. Fat lambs: 533 yarded. This numbor proved to bo much in excess of butchers' requirements,' and prices wero about 3s. per head lower than last week. Best. 163. to 17s. 6d.; good, 14s. to 15s. 6d.; medium, 12s. 6d. to 13s. 6d. Pigs: There wero 300 fat pigs yarded, and prices Showed an improvement on last, week's Quotations. Stores sold at about last wcok's rates. , .

Ltd., and Reduced, report bavins held their weekly sale in tho Mangahao yards yesterday, when they offered o. small yarding of sheep and a good entry of young cattle to a fair attendance of farmers and buyers. All stock offered met with fair competition, end we have, to report a total clearance, with one exception, at tho following prices: Sheep: Mixednged ewes, 10s. to 10s. 6d.; oscd owes, 7s. Id.
