ToRTo, January 29. Mr. Wheeler, a British manufacturer, has been arrested and put in gaol at Yokohama. The charge has not been preferred. Bail and legal advice were refused him.
Tho Consul-General 19 intervening. Mr. Wheeler represented the Genz and Wheeler Company. He obtained so many orders for. knitting machines that deliveries wero behindhand. The firm believe this caused trouble, and opine that the, authorities aro guiity of high-handed procedure.
