Thoro have, been more pillar-box' outrages in many districts. ,'»'.''■ A Suffragette was arrested for breaking ■ a Colonial Office window. Four letter-boxes in York .contained letters to Mr. Asquith, in which vero glass tubes containing a liquid which ignited on exposure to tho air. • Suffragettes attempted to enter tho hall at Mr. Asquith's meeting at Lowsn, Kfo, and threo were arrested for throwing pepper in a constable's face. • London, Januaryi 29. The Suffragettes have pmashed .windows in Hegent and Oxford Stents,, Charing Cross, and other centres." Mrs. Despard, president bf tho Women's.Suffrage League, who went b gaol for a fortnight in ■preference to paying a fine of 405., has been released, an unknown person having paid tho fine.
Three women and one man, -who supported Mrs. Dospard in her raid, hhvo been sentenced to fourteen days' imprisonment. , >.
