A delegation from the Onslow Borough Council discussed with.the Mayor of Wellington, yesterday'.the proposal which the borough has';in hand to erect a footbridge: ovcri the Kaiwarra Gorge, and so connect Wadestown , and .Ngaio. A now regulation regarding the payment of fees for university examinations has been niado by the Senate. Tho existing terms of tho statute prescribo an additional fee of two guineas for any application for examination mndo' within two weeks after tho statutory date for the receipt of notices, add aU additional fee of four guineas for any application made within- four weeks after tho dato for tho receipt of notices. Upon tho itdvico of its finance committee, tho Scnnto decided to amend tho statute to provide that notice to presoht Himself for any examination will bo accepted within, 31 days after the statutory date if tho candldato pays a feo of two guineas,in odditiiori to the ordinary foe for tho examination. . A letter has booh received from Lord Islington, late Governor of New Zealand, by tho president of the Wellington Or' plians' Club. Tho secretary of tho Kelburno Bowling Club waited upon the Reserves-Conitait-tco of tho City Council concerning, tho club's application for an area of bno'acro of the Towti, Bolt adjacent to Kelburno Park. , Hitherto tho council have i had to consider two applications for, ft piece of land in this locality— oAe from tho bowlers of Kelburne and ono from tho. ladies of Kelburno, who propose 'to form a croquet club. Tho secretary's message to tho committee to-day was to tho effect that the two clubs would join forces, and that only one piece of land would lie required.
