AMATEUR ATHLETICS.
PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. The-Wellington provincial amateur athletic championship meeting takes place at the Basin Reserve next Saturday. The promoters report that" excellent entries have been received for the various events, sixteen of which will be for championships. *. The contest for the M'Villy shield among the various city, suburban, and country clubs should prove even more exciting than last year. .
