1 Quito a pleasant little souvenir of their sojourn in Now Zealand has been passed , t on to the South .Melbourne, oriokot team < on the occasion of their leaving for Sydt' Bey. . Tho souvenir, took, the 'form -of a •jjpk'of 79 pages, bound ftl red and white (the South Melbourne Club colours), and it contained _a complete reproduction of almost all printed matter bearing on tho tour, whioh has appeared in the New Zealand press since itho dato on which the • toam first landed at Auckland. The book is the work: of that very energetio official (Mr; J.: C. ;Custtck # . secretary, of the Wellington 'Wednesday.Assooiation), and is inscribed: "To W. H. M'Cormack, sec-' retarv . South 'Melbourne Criokert „Club, l/Mila." It .presents: a .very complete . record •of the' tour.
Prior to sailing quite a sheaf of teleprams came to' Mr. G. H. S. Trott, captain of the team, from all parts of New Zealand. - Som&' of thom ate . very interesting, as indicating the effect which the 1 tour has had from an. education point of ' view.in' New, Zealand.' . 1 ■;/ , . Mr. Murray, seoretary •of '.the Canterbury:. (The Wellington team, batting first, compiled 148 runs (Howit 53, and B. Mabin 41), to which tho home ■ team replied with 10 in the first innings,' and 75 in the . .Bocond, tho institute thus winning bv an innings 'and 83 runs. • iWlth th& ball,' Chamberlain and A.
