Gd„ when butter-fat was paid for at tho rate of lid. per lb. . ~ ~ Tlw annual 6ohool pdcnlo of tho Anglican Church took place in Mr. Q. w. Wood's bush, on Anmvorsary Day. About seventy children and parents attended, and an enjoyable outing was snont thanks mainly to the combiMd:efforts of tho vicar (tho' TOv. Mr. C. Palmer). Mr. C P Exall, and tho teaching staff. All' the flaxmills in this. district- are closed to-day. in'order to allow employe to attend the half-yearly meetm*of tho Manawatu Flaxmill -Employees Union in Palmerston North., . ' ' Sunday the anniversary service of tho Methodist Church was conducted by tho TCev. Mr. J. Share, of Fcildintr. On Tuesday night a "knife and fork" fna was held in tho new schoolroom attached to tho cKureh. The. !?«-. Mr. Coatstvorth, of Foxton, presided. Dnring. tho evening-Misses Siennll, T,aurvii;, L. Butt, Tremowan (3), and the Dev. Mr. Norman Hyde contributed musical items. Mr. Hvdo,' who "tick off his coat" and himsolf, was mainly responsible for thrt erection of tho church annexe, stated tlwt tho now schoolroom had built by free labour, alld a small credit balance remained when tho work was completed. Roveral points pri7<es havo been donated for tho Horticultural Show by Mosdamos M'Pherson, Aim. Mitchell, ■ nnd Galland, M<"wrs.''Mitchell. Aim, Parqher, Galland, MTherson, nnd Spiers.'
