A meeting of those interested in -forming a Western Hutt Ratepayers' Association was held in the Ahcetown Schoolroom last- evening. On tho motion of Mr. Piorcy it was unanimously resolved to form a residents' association, representing Western Hntt, for tho purpose of protecting tho interests of householders. It was further decided to set up a small eommitteo (consisting of Messrs. Pyne, Anderson, Meldrum, Maule, Pieroy. and the chairman, ex officio) to draft rules and report at a mooting to bo held on Friday, February 11. Councillor Ball (Lower Hutt), who was present, congratulated tho meeting on the steps which they had taken.
