SEQUEL TO CA'PPING-DAY INCIDENTS.

Auckland, January 24. An example has been , made 'of . the. Auckland University CollegoStudents as a warning to the general community of undergraduates ngainst dishirbaiico. of capping ceremonies by traditional methods of singing, interruption of speakers, and moro objectionable demonstrations.. On Wednesday the Senate declined to_i)npec" any general penalty upon tho four colleges, but to-day, by 1G votes to fair, it adopted tho advice of tho Professorial Board of Auckland College, and resolved to suspend tho ceremony in .connection with the college for one .war, oil account of incidents which occurred during tho Inst ceremony in tho Tovipi Hall. Tho diplomas of this year will accordingly 1m forwarded by post to each graduate, and degrees will Ik> conferred by tho Chancellor in tlio sessto.n of tho Senate.
