It was announced that February 15 next lad been'fixed as the.date ■■,f:'tho New Zealand championship meeting. Mr. J. .Ellis was appointed to act as judge ;of .the walking events, vice Mr. Holt (resigned). '.■' ''■''::.;... The following committees were/appointed to arrange. matters. in connection with the Wellington provincial championships on February I':—Advertising, Messrs. W. L. Dunn, J. B. Holt, and W. A. rbomp; son; programmes, Messrs. A; CiKitto, L. Cousins, and'A. D. Duncan; grouads, Messrs. W. L. :Dunn, T. W. Leslie, and C. Lamberg; band, Mr. G. A. Scott. In connection with the programme of events for tbo. provincial championships, it was decided to transfer the polo juirAi and Wp-step-and-iump events from' the handioap,.series to the championship series. ■: It was resolved,' and: referred to tho Now Zealand Council:-- , That, m the opinion of the Wellington' Centre the grantinc of medals to the winners and seconds in the championships is out of date, and that tho Wellington Centre urges the following, method of awarding prizes:— .":'■'•.•' 1. Winners of championships to have the option of selecting either:;(a) the customary gold medal; or (b) a substantial certificate nnd trophy to thevaluoof £2 25.; 'such option to be exercised within the week of holding the New Zealand championships, otherwise option, to be presumed in favour of a certificate .and trophy. ■"- -..■■ 2. Seconds in tho New Zealand- championships to receive n substantial certificate. All certificates to contain appropriate particulars' of the performance in respect of which ithey are given. Messrs!
