A sitting of the Pctorio Court was held yesterday morning before Messrs. M'Ewan and Wakoham, J.P.'s. Leslie Charles Finch, ft young man, was charged■• With being drunk whilst in oliurg* 'df a motorcar. Evidence was given oy the Splice to the effect that accused drove his car into another which was drawn up en' tho side of the road, undergoing repairs. Two men were injured by the impact, and one of them was now in ther hospital. After administering h caution as to tho serious nature of tho offenoo, tho Bench imposed n fine of £5, in default. 14 days' imprisonment.'■.■; •■■ \' Mr. R. Cunliffo was last' night elected by a large majority to tho pbsition of president of the Petono Working Men's club. Mr. Darling was elected vicepresident without opposition.
