SHOOTING.

SUBURBS RIFLE CLUB'. • The Suburbs Rifle Club held a field day at Trentham on Wednesday last, when the annual "Daily Mail" (Jup competition was fired over ranges of 300, 500, 600, 800, 900, and 1000 yards; seven shots at each range. The cup was won by Rifleman T. Goodall, with a fine score of 196 out of a possible 210. Goodall made a brilliant finish over 600, MO, and 1000 yards-, scoring 100 over these rpnges. Rifleman H. Boon won tho Ladies' Bracelet, over 300, 500, nnd GOO yards, with another fine score of 100 Riflemen J. Given and H. Snclling running Rifleman Hcon close with 90 eaoh. The Newton aggregate, over-800, 900, and 1000 yards, was won by Rifleman J. L. Turner, with another fine scoro of 100, Rifleman Turner boating Rifleman T. Goodall on the count-back for first prize. Rifleman A. Turner won the 6ilver spoons for the best store at 1000 yards (33 points). The weather conditions in the morning were not very good, but the afternoon proved to be all that could be desired for good shooting end big scores. Riflemen J. L. Turner, T. Hunt, and H. Boon tied for seoond and tliird ? laces in the aggregate, and in tho fire-off . L. Turner was first, H. Boon second, and H. Hunt third. The following are some of tho highest aggregates over all ranges:—T. Goodall, 10J; J. L. Turner, 191; H. Boon, 191; H: Hunt, 191; A. Turner, 190; J. Smart, 190; C. Whitcman, 188; C. J. Fisher, 185; F. A. l'rice, 185; J. E. Given, 18*; J. H. Ross. 163. Next Saturday the club will visit Trentham for lone-range shooting rt 900 nnd 1000 yards. The train leaves at 1.8 p.m.
