' THE, SALESMAN'S REPORT,
A report ou tho working-of. tho flsft market was presented to the City Council last night by the salesman (Mr. T. H. Alward). Ho stated that >up till Decomber .18 there was a supply of fish ia' tho market every day, but since then tho. steam trawler Energy had boon laid up, and the supply had been inlermillent, , and quite insuflioioiit lo ; meet the' de-i liinnds of the public. He added, ill,conclusion :--"Tkoso figures I think fairly' : satisfactory for tho beginning nf tho scheme, aud 1 have very little doubt that ,if. tho source of supply had continued as ' at tho first the market would have mora than justifitd its inception, and I would 1 add , from the taporioiico gained' whilst salesman that, gi voir a constant supply of; fish, there is every prospect of doing good business, as : there 14 a constant and increasing demand,", Tho receipts from fish sales, he stated, had amounted in nil to .£572 7s. 10d., and tho---total expenses incurred had been .£555 lis. ld»
