Tho latter,' in 1910, became one,of the guarantors for Shackleton's .£IO,OOO overdraft at tho bank, and he also took up six thousand shares in a company with which Shacklcton was associated. The prosecution 'stated that Shackloton know tho shares .were worthless. '
