PICNIC.
The sixth annual picnio of Messrs. Eotv ert Martin, Ltd., was held -at Day's Bay ou Saturday last. The weather conditions were very favourable, and a pleasant day was spent. A first-class programme was run off by Messrs. D. Smith (handicapper) and R. W. Martin (starter),the principal events resulting as follow:'— Boys' 100 yds. handicap (two races)— First race: P. Wilson 1, L. Bail 2; second race: H. Dixon 1, T. Martin 2. Girls' 100 yds. handicap (two races)— First race: L. 01sen 1, B. Buchanan 2; second race: Dixon I, S. Auld 2. Boys under 16: F. Martin, 1. Girls under 18: Miss Dixon, 1. Apprentices' 100 yds. handicap. O. Welsford, 1; W. Zander. 2. Men's 100 yds. handicap: F. Creed, 1; L. Dixon, 2; J. Auld, 3. Married ladies' race: Mrs. Freeman,,. 1; Mrs. Bell, 2. Obstacle race: Hart, 1; Dixon, 2, Egg-and-spoon race: Mrs. Carter, 1; Mrs. Kendall, 2. i Committee men's rnco: D. Smith, 1; E.- Boyd, 2. Single ladies' raoei: Miss Ifirtland, 1; Miss>B. Martin, 2. Men's 220 yds. handicap: 11. Hart, 1; A. Anderson, 2; R; Hart, 8. Boys' extra race: H. Locke, 1; E. Shannon, 2. The inside hands were again successful in winning tho tng-of-war from tho outside hands. Tho baby show, which attracted a lot of attention was won by Mrs. Shannon's child, with Mrs. Higgins's child second. The committeeMessrs. R. W. Martin (chairman), B. Kendall, D. Smith, E, Boyd, W.
