When tho Miramar Borough Council meets on Thursday evening, it will consider tho following motion by Councillor Telford:—"That tho council consider tho advisablencss of extending tho Soatoun tramway along tho foreshore to Awa Koad in lieu of subsidising tho ferry service, and that an estimate of tho cost of such extension bo prepared."
During the passage of E.M.S. Corinthic from London to Wellington, a third-class passenger, who was Ireoked to Wellington, named Mrs. Kcarton, died from natural causes on December 28. The body was buried at sea.
Christmas Day was spent at sea by the Corinthic's passengers, who numbered :)G3 in the third-class. A hugo Christmas Tree was made for tho children, each of them rece'ving a present. The usual sports, dances, and games were held on board throughout tho passago froiu London to Wellington^
