An error appeared in the interview with Mr. Speaker Willis published »i yesterday's Dominion. Mr. Willis was credited with saying that it was the constitutional rule for the Speaker to veto with tho Government when ajio resulted in any important division. What ho did say was that it was tho rule for the Speaker to vote for the Government when, a tio resulted in a no-confidence division. J. ho constitutional position, in Mr. Willis s view, is that when a no-conndonco division is taken and tho numbers aro even, then the Speaker casts his vote with tho Govcriunont, because it. is no business ot tno Speaker's to take the Kings advisers from him. With regard to a tio division upon ordinary legislation tho constitutional practice is for the Speakor to cast his vote against tho adoption of the measure, no that Parliament may have another opportunity of oonilderlng the matter.
